Come join us on Wednesday, May 5, for our epic return to Cinema L'Amour. A gorgeous old-style cinema with breathtaking design, located right in the heart of the plateau. Our main attraction, from GRINDHOUSE RELEASING: The Beyond, directed by Lucio Fulci. Considered to be one of the best movies made by the Italian director, The Beyond has gained a cult following over the decades, in part because of the film's gore-filled murder sequences, which had been heavily censored when the film was originally released in the United States in 1983. PRESENTING THE FULL UNCENSORED ORIGINAL. Tickets will be on sale as of Wednesday April 28. First 10 tickets @ $5 (one per customer), the rest at $10! As always, Grindhouse Wednesdays is organized as a benefit for Head & Hands [ www.headandhands.ca ] We present exploitation cinema in the hopes of contrasting the near comical depiction of sex & violence (and its resultant dehumanization) with the promotion of respect & tolerance within our communities that Head & Hands espouses, Grindheads know that these events are meant to be a reunion of likeminded individuals seeking to laugh in irony together. |
