▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀■€â–€ a special edition of our monthly featuring performances by some of Canada's very best Dubstep producers and DJs. If you enjoy bass music, don't miss this show, the lineup is stellar !!!

★ LIVING~STONE [Montreal, Dubstep powerhouse, new EP out now on Monkey Dub]

Living~Stone is an up and coming genre-busting performer. Living~Stone melds frequencies of dub, dubstep, hip hop, glitch hop, mid-tempo and funky breaks into a sonic experience he likes to call Bass Culture. As a member of the international Dig.iT.aL crew, Living~Stone collaborates with artists and musicians throughout North America, Europe, and where ever people can be found that truly Dig iT aLL.

Based primarily in Montreal, Canada, Living~Stone is one of two residents of the monthly FreeDemBass dubstep nights at Blizzarts Lounge. He has played along side such prominent electronic musicians such as Skream, Benga, Luke Envoy, Goth Trad, Max Ulis, Taal Mala, Komodo, Ill Gates, Bombaman, Freedom Danish & the Root Sellers, to name a few.

He can be found playing dubstep and other bass music at dubstep and electronic music events around Montreal, Eastern Canada and beyond. This year Living~Stone played multiple sets at Eastern Canada’s prestigious Evolve Festival’s 10th year anniversary, as well as for Montreal’s #1 outdoor party playground Piknic Electronique alongside UK badboys Skream and Benga. Recognized anywhere he plays as a legit badman, 2010 promises to be his biggest year yet.

"Living~Stone brings game. Genre hopping loop teaser, anywhere this boy is there’s a party. Even the most sceptical folk-rock fanatic has been known to drop their tambourine and break into the dubstep slow bump at the drop of his hi-hat shuffle over the dirty big bass. He is a jump up raver behind the decks- quite blatantly having as much fun throwing down the tracks as the bouncing pit of happy before him. He's behind the booth but there is no division between him and the dance floor. His IS the dance floor. Pushing the genre to its party maximum, while previously loved tracks are given a new lease on life new ones are tested, the reactions noted and all the while the revelry continues. Just try and stand still to this dub monkey’s big sound".
(quoted article written by Kate Reddington)

★ PANDEMIC [Capital Bass Culture]

Dude drops the bass like a bad habit. The driving force behind Capital Bass Culture and Ottawa's favourite dubstep monthly "Steppin Up", Pandemic brings a fresh mix of the best of old and new dubstep. All vinyl, on time on target.

★ WOBLZ [ ] // Capital Bass Culture]

Woblz aka Supaman started mixing hip-hop when he was 12 in his basement until one day he heard the magical sounds of electronic music. He fell in love instantly. At age 14 he landed a residency at a local youth club in the edm room playing hard trance and hard house for 4 years. He finally got his first gig opening at Celestial 2 playing hardstyle.

He has been a staple in the Ottawa rave and afterhours scene playing for years along side, Omar Santana, Ophidian, Scott Brown, Manu le malin, Ill Gates and many others. He has also been in the promoting game for over 7 years. Throwing a very succesful hard dance night in Ottawa with Dj Joe Rowe, bringing in out of town artists and showcasing Ottawa's great local talent.

Today he plays all over eastern Canada from Quebec city to Montreal and Toronto. Now Woblz has found a new sound: a sound so great, so BASSY that it makes make the masses shake, the sounds of the Dubstep. He is currently the newest member of the Rough n Rugged Ent. Family in Ottawa.
