Artists like Kraftwerk, Scorpions and Rammstein have earned international recognition, but the wide variety of musical styles such as rock, Neue Deutsche Welle, Hamburger Schule, Ostrock, hip hop, punk and metal have demonstrated over the years that Germany is not only opened to an array of different musical genres, it is also a place of creativity that's influential around the world. Where Germany has been mostly recognized by having the largest electronic music scene in the world, it is important for North American bands of any music style to stop by Germany while touring. This panel will explore how to approach Germany as a touring destination, how to get a booking agent, how to submit your application for German festivals and how do German artists face the struggles in the music industry today compared to North American artists. L’Allemagne a toujours été un pays d’avant-garde musicale et ce, dès la période classique avec Wagner, Bach et Mozart. Des artistes comme Kraftwerk, Scorpions et Rammstein ont réussi à obtenir du succès au-delà des frontières de leur pays, mais l’Allemagne a aussi su se démarquer dans d’autres genres (le rock, le hip-hop, le punk et le métal) pour créer le Neue Deustche Welle, le Hamburger Schule et le Ostrock, des styles musicaux dont on reconnaît aujourd’hui l’influence chez d’autres musiciens partout dans le monde. Alors que l’Allemagne accueille aujourd’hui la plus importante scène de musique électronique, il est important pour les groupes nord-américains, quelque soit leur style, d’inscrire ce pays sur leur itinéraire de tournée. Cet atelier permettra d’en savoir davantage sur la façon d’approcher le marché allemand lorsque vient le temps d’effectuer une tournée, de trouver un agent de spectacle, d’appliquer pour les divers festivals allemands et de comparer les moyens utilisés par les musiciens allemands pour faire leur marque dans l’industrie musicale.
