Aluas For the Open Stage, anyone can perform anything from music, spoken word, poetry, monologues, experimental, comedy, and more. Bring your guitar, or your creativity, and get up and have fun! and Showcasing: Linda Grenier and Steve Sauvé Linda Grenier Bio: Based in Lanark County outside Ottawa, Linda is a powerful singer who has become an accomplished songwriter, and has released two CD’s of original material to prove it. Her songs range from light-hearted road music ("Driving" and "50 Bucks") through acerbic commentary ("Find the Kitchen") all the way to the torchy, evocative "Moonlight" and "Let It Go". Linda performs regularly in the Lanark County and Ottawa area cafes, pubs and corporate shows, either solo or with the addition of instrumentation suitable for the particular venue. Audience participation is always appreciated and encouraged. Linda's Website: [ www.xvi.com ] Steve Sauvé Bio: Steve Sauvé is quite active in Ottawa's spoken word scene, and is a regular performer at many of the city's slams and poetry readings. Steve performed on the CDs Thursday Night Heroes: Live at Café Nostalgica, Live at Capital Slam 2005, and his own full-length CD entitled Steve Sauvé Does It With His Glasses On. He has been a member of the Ottawa Team at both the 2004 and 2005 editions of the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word, and will be competing in the 2006 CBC Poetry Face-Off on March 14th. Steve is tall and gangly, but collapses easily for convenient storage under the bed. Steve's interests include independent films, experimental novels, wooing bespectacled women, and writing about himself in the third person.
