| Info: | Helsinki and Tantric Productions proudly present: [b]Elevation[/b] Helsinki has been the only location in Ottawa willing to give the trance scene a monthly event that would be willing to give your feet a run for its money! Yet alone a TRANCE night that has been sought after for a very long time. So lets show our appreciation by giving this night a wonderful welcome, and hopefully a place to stay as a staple in the Ottawa scene. This will be the fifth installment of Elevation, which seems to have found a place to stay in the Ottawa scene! DJ's for the evening are as follows. [b]DJ Raissa[/b] [i]Velvet, Surface Nightclub[/i] With over seven years of experience on the decks, Raissa has accomplished top marks not just as a DJ but as of this year she has earned hers Masters degree from the world renowned Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University. Her professional career as a DJ began playing local parties and raves. As time progressed Raissa was being booked outside of Ottawa in cities such as Santa Fe (New Mexico) Quebec City and various other parties across the country. Her positive attitude, selection and knowledge of music, along with her great looks started to attract club promoters. Her first residencies included Ottawa’s premier female DJ night “Chicks w/ Decks”, and Joe Juarez’s legendary Velvet night at Icon. She can now be heard rockin the decks on the Surface sound system. As a Surface resident she has not only had the opportunity to play alongside the likes of Dave Ralph, Richie Hawtin, John OO Flemming, Preach, Dimitri from Paris, Christian Smith, Hector Romero, Kenny Glasgow, and Misstress Barbara, but has also headlined the main room at Surface. Her style is vast, from Tech-house to thumping tribal and deep progressive. She always leaves the crowd wanting more! Come out and experience Raissa, as she reaches back into her crates to please all you trance fans, for she used to play trance back in the day. I, Chakra V, have got to witness her in action back in 2000 and her sets were memorable and am very please to have her play! You will not be dissapointed. [b]Chakra V[/b] [i]Velvet, Revival, Tantric[/i] Chakra V bought his first set of decks in January of 2000. He is also the founder of Tantric Productions. Being very discouraged at first, and giving up after only 2 weeks of fooling around with them, Chakra V can only look back upon that time as a learning experience to never give up. Tyler got his first big break in 2001, when he played at an installment of the Deelight series. After being absent from the scene for about 2-3 years, and playing at little parties here and there, finally made a statement in the scene in 2004. In 2004, Tyler entered the Surface Nightclub DJ competition and beat out 15 other competitors to gain the title. He won the 2004 competition in August of last year. Ever since that day, things have looked nothing but up for this young man. Highlight of his career so far would have to be opening up for the one and only Ferry Corsten at Helsinki. The vibe of that night is unparallel, and will stay in his heart and mind for a long, long time. DJ's played alongside: Ferry Corsten, John '00 Fleming, Saint Pete, Dr. Trance. Paladin, DJ Mad, and of course, VH3. [b]Yelena[/b] [i]Tantric, Pulse, Transit[/i] Yelena first got her start at a local Club Maxime where she was offered to promote and play a weekly night in 2000. Thanks to her amazing ear for music and the variety of styles played, which even included hip hop, the night soon became a success. But as all things some to an end, it was time to move on to bigger and better things. After playing numerous parties Yelena started discovering trance music listening to its greatest ambassadors Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk. She dedicated her time to perfecting her skills, finding best and most inspiring music, and captivating audiences whenever she played. More bookings followed including an event called Radiate. Some highlights at the moment include playing at Pulse parties, which marks the frist ever Ottawa University Electroinic Music Club and entering Surface UDJ competiton which will take her far and provide her with a recognition she deserves. Dont let the looks fool you, this lady can defintely rock the dance floors!!
