Long before large clubs dominated the electronic dance music scene as we know it today, Winnipeg's underground warehouse scene of the early to mid '90's spawned curiosity for some, but a way of life on the weekends for others. Little or no lighting, and a (embarrassingly small, compared to today's standards) sound system, thumping in the background. This was all it took, for many to gather week in and week out at many of Winnipeg's infamous warehouse parties.

As parties shifted around various warehouse locations around the downtown core, none had been as celebrated (both back in the day and as memories for many) as the PANIC parties at the now legendary 123 Princess warehouse. Around the back alley and into the freight elevator, up to the second floor. The music distant at first, pulsating and gravitating upon entry. It was at these parties that people came, to enjoy the varied atmosphere, people, and music of the time. Although short lived at just over a year, PANIC on Princess was certainly the longest running series of warehouse parties in our fair city. As all good things come to an end, the original organizers and promoters of PANIC believe in carrying on the memory that many so often crave to this day.

PANIC has been re-created on numerous occasions over the last handful of years. Many of the original warehouse DJ's that played PANIC and other warehouse parties have treated those that were there (and many newbie's too) to the sounds that were played, back in the day.

Recreating that original feeling with only the best in house music, techno-rave and club anthems are some of Winnipeg's original bricklayers of the electronic music scene:

DJ'S
BRIAN ST. CLAIR (Scandals NightClub "Monday Night Neon Nights": 1989 - 1994/Die Machine: 1997-1998/Luv Affair, Vancouver) - spinning a classic mixed set of alternative dance/electronica/rave from 1989-1994, circa late '80's/early '90's Scandals, Monday evenings. Brian St. Clair, is considered to be amongst the first few Winnipeg DJ's to expose "rave" music and educate the masses with cutting edge electronica music in the late 1980's and early 1990's. This set will surely be a treat for "those who know" (and those who want to know) as BRIAN ST. CLAIR graces the PANIC stage for the FIRST TIME EVER! Definitely not to be missed!
FISHEAD (You know the score, TOTAL HARDCORE!!!!!!!!! NEED WE SAY MORE? Canada's hardcore ambassador makes a return to Winnipeg from his new home in Montreal for one special evening to blow the shit out of everyone for one VERY special evening of classic FISHEAD Old School Hardcore! This for the headstrong! Not to be missed!)

VAPO-RUB (aka Gabe Reality) (By The People -For The People, 216 Princess, DarkZone, and more) Spinning a classic set of warehouse influenece trance and bangin' choons as he did, back in the day.

SHAWN SOMMERS (Panic/123 Princess, Scandals, Club Soda, U4IA, Groove Factory,The Crypt, Die Machine, The Pyramid, Panic, Lush, A One Night Stand, and more) - Playing the classic house and breaky-rave influenced cuts of the late 80's through to the mid '90's. Expect to hear early warehouse influenced house grooves, classic breaks and ravey breakbeat, epic hardhouse, a few surprises and more!!!!
OXIDE (Panic, Groove Factory, A One Night Stand, Shift Radio, and more) - Classic warehouse house!

HARRY VEST (aka Joe Myles) (Panic/123 Princess, The Spectrum, 136 Market, 123 Princess, and more) - Playing it as it was, in the days of the SPECTRUM CABARET (before it became the Pyramid) and 123 Princess style choons!

We invite you to come down for this one special night of classic music, people and memories
(both cherished and created).

Doors open at 8:30 PM. Music starts at 9PM. Arrive early, all PANIC events fill to capacity early. Plus we don't want you to be left out and miss an evening of great music....
