WARNING: post has potential spoilers. im trying to not say anything too directly for those of you who are really into the *cough* "plot" of the matrix revolutions, but even so...

visually, the 3d and special effects were not to be believed. in short, some of my favorite parts; the human fields, the city of the machines, the apu mech gundams, the war with zion, the swarm of sentinels as they break through the docks, the machine tunnels, and this one scene where they soar above the sky for a few brief instants - phenomenol. aesthetically, a fucking brilliant movie. underline: FUCKING BRILLIANT AESTHETICALLY. im still trying to burn some of the images into my skull so i dont forget them. but ONLY aesthetically.

the character development and weak plot were laughable. id like to throw rotten food at the screen writers for these lengthy spurts of ridiculous cheesy dialogue. the action sequences, i do give props to, they were shorter than reloaded. in short, bringing back the ideal of the original somewhat which is fine by me.

and whats this love bullshit? please. theyve left just enough room for a sequel without bringing back our star of bill & ted's bogus journey.

...

comments folks, id like to hear the fanatics try and reconcile those scenes where you cover your mouth as hard as you can to keep from laughing hysterically while every other nincompoop is rapt watching some main character die spurting out lines of verbose poetry. this was not drama, this was the titanic, but a lot darker, with a bunch of machines.

i wonder why it is that no one EVER seems to remember the extremely cheesy scene at the end of the first matrix film where trinity brings neo back to life with a kiss......

why complain about cheese in a sequel if the first had it's share.

It was so average I find. They build up so much in reloaded and the original with all sorts of philosophical stuff, and at the end it's just a game. It's the same reason that I found Identity sucked donkey-balls. They build you up, they make you care about the characters, and then *poof* all the people you cared about turn out to not be real and to not matter by the end. I would only go see it in theaters to watch the scene with the mechs, and the bullet-time punch in the rain. That's about the coolest thing this movie had going for it.

I'd give this a 2/5, and that's being generous as fuck. It doesn't deserve it with all the fuckups they did.

something found on revolutions:

The Oracle said the power of the One reaches to the Source. This is why he can feel anything connected to the Machines, including Smith in the real world. That seemed obvious.

Smith entering Bane is less obvious, but I figure if they can download training programs or connect to a virtual reality, programs can also hijack a brain through those same ports.

As for how Neo actually destroyed Smith, it is implied, not explained...things aren't spelled out for the idiots. You can draw endless conclusions. The Oracle said Smith is Neo's opposite, his negative...1 + (-1) = 0. Or you can say once Neo was destroyed, the equation had to "rebalance" itself again, killing Smith.

Hell, look up what the name Sati means and find out the deeper meanings of that ending.

But people don't look at it that way. The thing I find most interesting is that most reviews say it's better than Reloaded, yet give it a worse rating than Reloaded (RottenTomatoes has Reloaded at something like 76%, compared to the 36% of Revolutions).

People just didn't like that it wasn't a Hollywood ending. I will say that this movie has the most hidden religious and philosophical imagery I've ever seen...it's all way more subtle than Reloaded (who noticed the glowing cross and wings when Neo was killing Smith? Who noticed the Fibonacci sequences in the intro, and the reveal of the Machine City? Who noticed that bizarre "goathead" symbol in the Matrix code when the intro finished?).

ha!
just like i said...
it wasnt just a movie to be watched...
the philosophical stuff was very plentiful.. they mixed in like every religion possible, and those who thought that maybe love was the difference from a machine and a human were found out to be wrong... its choice that makes us special... freewill
without it, we wouldnt be human... God gave it to us, and thats what makes us special...
i loved that movie... all the subtleties about religion and philosophy and pretty much the meaning of life, made the movie damn good...

everyone was a expecting a cool sci-fi movie, like the first one... people thought that you would become a better hacker by watching these damn movies.. all the computer nerds built it up too much...

thats just one man's opinion though

i loved it

the second one was blah
this one was exactly what i wanted
it answered my questions

sure, nothing was gonna top the first film, but that had the advantage of being the first. of getting the chance to introduce the concepts, the philosolphy, the characters.....this one had to offer a conclusion, and in that sense i thought it was perfect.

i'd go see it again, but that's cuz i'm a geek
