[ www.facebook.com ] As written down on the notepad... 7 pm. 'TBA' is removed onto Mainframe's event page. We now know where Mainframe, an underground rave of 600 people announced 3 months ago, will be held at. I don't know if I'm ready yet for it. I need to... 8:33 pm I'm thinking about the time I should leave to Mainframe. 10 maybe? Or 11? ... 9:02 pm Did they lie to us about 'underground music'? Was even M.I.K.E. 'underground' in early 2000? John Askew? And who are ''they''? Thoughts are invading my mind as Mainframe approaches... 10:15 pm Getting a bit lost in my thoughts... what defines a 'rave'? Is it only a party at night? Where? Is it like a secret society of people partying at night in the movie 'Blade'? Where does that term come from? 10:43 pm I think the word ''underground'' refers to a culture, ''people living into the 'underground' ", not ''too small to be unkown". Maybe... not. Yes? 11:11 pm So those people living into this underground culture and adopting its lifestyle are going to parties called 'raves'? It makes sense. Probably. And people partying at clubs are simply clubbing... 11:19 pm Fuck. I didn't see the time, need to leave now. Where are my keys! ... 11:55 pm Finally found the place. It is in the basement of some Chinese restaurant, downtown. Downtown looks empty and streets are dead. Everything looks gray. 12:06 am I'm seeing all kinds of people in front of the door, outside. Artists, poors, wealthy, gothics, students, hippies, young, old, punks, nerds... All seem to share something in common. It makes me curious... 12:08 am Stepping into the Mainframe... 12:13 am 2 and a half rooms spotted. One is for Hard Psy and Full On, the second for Progressive Psy/Trance/Techno (similar to J00F). 12:25 am Music is damn fast in the Full On room... 1:54 am Now outside, need to take a break. Feels like a rave in the 90's. Feels underground. 2:26 am When does Chromatone start? Hell, I don't even know how he looks like and no one else seems to know neither. Djs are not superstars for them... 3:35 am I think it is D-Brain mixing, Full On so far, driving basslines. The headliner might be after him but I need to leave earlier, my legs hurt, goodly though... 3:51 am Raves had a different evolution than clubs. Was Bal en Blanc ever a rave?
