Gfs/bfs And Housework Discussion

 Coolness: 93430 | Just out of curiosity...how do you decide who does what? Does the gf do everything? the bf? do you split it 50/50? or does someone do more?
I always grew up with the mentality that relationships are about equality in a holistic sense. So the housework could be split 50/50, but doesn't have to be. For example, if one person is paying more of the bills, the other could be expected to do more of the housework. Or the perhaps the person working/studying fewer hours takes care of more of the housework. Have you ever been in a situation where you pulled the weight of both you and your partner? Ie - payed more of the bills, and did more of the housework? Did you talk to them about it? Do you feel that they are showing you a lack of respect by not pulling their own weight? Have you ever broken up with someone over it? Discuss |

As far as money goes, it's never been an issue before. I don't know how it could go. I can see it being 50/50 on common expenses, or 50/50 split of remaining combined. If it's a boyfriend, boyfriend, then definitely 50/50 of remaining combined, probably with an agreed percentage going into savings or something. Actually, this was going to be an issue with my last boyfriend, and I was going to do something like that. 50/50 on expenses, I was going to match whatever surplus he was going to have, and put the rest in a savings account. I was clearing 2K/month then, and he was a "student". As far as chores are concerned, I just wouldn't trust my boyfriend to do the washroom to my standards, and my boyfriend really shouldn't want me to bring bags to the curb late at night. Fuck I miss him. |
