But... but...but... I keep hearing from the Transportation minister that all bridges and overpasses are safe and inspected and we have nothing to worry about !!! * sigh *

I really love it when a politician tells us exactly what we want to hear without verifying in order to substantiate his claims. Feels to me like been blatantly being lied to all the while insulting my intelligence at the same time.

no shit eh? The mayor is lying through his teeth, not realizing that it's obvious to everyone that the infrastructures are fucked. Right after the tunnel collapse I saw him on the news, and I wish I could remember exactly what he said 'cause it was Fail-gold, but I do remember thinking that he must assume that we're all pretty fucking stupid.
I'm feeling you up right now..

Sam Hamad. Hate him. No matter if this shit was thrown or not. Before there even was a question about that, the Transportation ministry declined responsibility. Apparently this infrastructure belongs to a private company so...it's not of the Transportation ministry's business to ensure it doesn't fall apart. Next call!

When the cement was on Papineau it became their problem, the fact that it fell is cp rails problem, I don't see why you would be angry at the transportation minister for pointing that out.
Dodging falling bridges, it's what makes montrealers a special breed.

This

I was biking under that bridge 5 minutes before it happened. Helmets seem like a good solution.
