Grindhouse Wednesdays returns to the gorgeous Rialto Theatre with a presentation of Larry Cohen's terrifying GOD TOLD ME TO (1976).

This film is a true gem of 1970s chique: the more adventurous among you are highly *encouraged* to rock your best 70s look.

We are super excited about having local indie pop band FREELOVE FENNER setting the tone with their eerily beautiful sound ( [ freelovefenner.com ] ). DJ Sarcastic will be holding it down with a signature all-vinyl set ( [ www.myspace.com ] ).

There will be beer, popcorn, and mayhem. Oh and as always, this is a benefit for Head & Hands: youth outreach superstars!

Seconded... it's one of the films that the late Robin Wood singles out as exemplifying the 'apocalyptic horror' of the 70's in his seminal essay "An Introduction to the American Horror Film."

Q The Winged Serpent is another great Cohen work...
I'm feeling new records right now..
