"I, like DAF, also didn't need to get fucked over at 14-15 years-old to understand that I needed to wait until I knew myself enough, knew what I was seeking, and found and trusted someone good. And I found him."

so then why are you saying you need to experience to learn?
because i read the total opposite in that post! hehe since you didn't have to try it to know that you need to wait (personally i was more talking about trust than wait but it's pretty much the same)

Just as well... A conversation is a conversation, it flows. I've never quite understood the whole "stick to the topic" thing. Unless it's a technical forum where people are looking for troubleshooting info... no point in letting a thread die or creating a gazillion threads just because we're straying away from the premise of the OP :p

Of course it's possible, but you still "evolved" in some ways, yes? Handling shit better, having better insight, that's all part of it too :)

Back to the topic at hand, I think Antonino should take one good picture of himself in a corner (like the "Toastyyyy!" guy in Mortal Kombat) and use it as a signature.

That way the rest of the picture could be of his subject, uninterrupted.

Yoshin: yes, absolutely. But watching over each other doesn't mean that we should excuse the (potential) abusers' behaviour (I'm talking in general terms here. Again, somehow, I don't know the guy whose name is in the topic except from seeing his gazillion of "me + someone else" portraits).

However, contrary to some people here, I think that some people need to have not-so-cool shit happen to them in order to truly learn. But then the perpetrator of these acts is only destiny's tool and most definitely doesn't deserve personal thanks x)

but make stuff like the GRIP kiosk giving away condoms,
just informative, positive prevention.

but not tell them 'don't do this it's wrong'
best way to piss off a teenager and have them do the exact opposite.....
(well i know i was like that... still am sometimes... and most probably not the only one...)

make a 'safer raving guide' with cool drawings, useful info, etc...

oh, and raves are supposed to be 16+ ;)
this is why I waited until I was 16 to rave... Because, I knew about the rave scene when I was 11, but I decided it would be better to wait.

people should be strong by knowing themselves and their limits.
not everyone has the same limits. some people enjoy antonino's pictures, some don't... so like i said just be clear.

Sad to say, but on other message boards that I visit, with people of a wide variety of ages... I constantly see threads where grown adults, often over 40, need people's reassurance that it's okay to say "no" when people ask stuff of them and abuse their generosity.
When/if I have kids, I'll make sure they learn that respecting themselves is just as important as respecting the people around them. I don't want to raise a doormat.

I agree!

Having a 3000$ camera (or a polaroid, LOMO, or whatever's hipster right now) doesn't necessaraly make you a good photographer.
'I'm a photographer' is the new 'I'm an artist'.

Saw his pictures (the ones with his watermark on them)... not impressed.

Here's the question though, before we all light our torches and burn people:

I've seen Antonino go after every pretty face in a rave. However, has he actually abused or manipulated any underaged girls in raves? We were speculating on what is right and wrong but I can't help feeling like some here are now taken for granted that he has done such things.

Has he?
