One of my friends in high school drank a bottle of robo at lunch break and when he came back for class, his skin was all purple and his eyes all red... he started puking in his water cup during class. The teacher told him to go to the bathroom, and he did. For about a hour he was puking in the bathroom, then started walking the halls puking, and in the student lounge too. Then the head teacher was asking him what the hell he was on, but he kept insisting he was sober. Then I took him out for some air and he just screamed "EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!" XD Right when the head teacher came outside. So the teacher brought my friend to his car, and started driving him to the hospital. My friend started freaking out even more and tried to jump out the car window. But that didn't really work. Anyways, they got to the hospital and my friend was expelled. And that's my story of the day. Please be careful with this crap! |

 Coolness: 29760 | Well if you absolutely have to.. never take any syrup with anything other than Dextromethorphan in it (there's a lot that don't even list some of the side ingredients so be careful). I've done it a few times and only once had a good experience where I wasn't violently throwing up, it's definitely not worth it and it seriously fucks up your body health wise |

 Coolness: 685530 | even at that, almost all syrups with DXM in it have an extra ingredient that, when ingested in large amounts, induces vomiting so that you can't get high off of it.. They have the same stuff in Tylenol/Aspirin/etc.. Take too much and you puke it out so you can't kill yourself. |

 Coolness: 37835 | Go to any Pharmaprix or Shopper's Drug Mart around Montreal... you will find DXM cough medicines without any other active ingredients than "dextromethorphan hydrobromide". It's really not that hard to find. There's absolutely no reason to drink recreational doses of DXM syrup if there are other active ingredients. |

Almost all syrups or DXM pills contain sorbitol, which is an irritant, but only in amounts larger than a couple of doses more than a standard dose of the medication.. Sorbitol, though, generally gives you diarrhea, not causes vomiting, I'm not sure what the ingredient that causes vomiting is.. But it's not medicinal, so even if there's only DXM in the Medicinal Ingredients, you've still got to account for the syrup that the DXM is suspended in. |

I'm not saying it's HEALTHY to drink large amounts of DXM syrup - obviously all the fake sugary crap isn't gonna make your stomach feel too great... but from a harm reduction perspective, if someone says they want to trip on DXM, I'm gonna make sure to tell them that they should stay away from the syrups with other active ingredients (which are much more dangerous in high doses that sorbitol). |

Syrups, even if DXM is the ONLY medicinal ingredient, are the WORST way to do DXM these days, because they've ALL got either Sorbitol, or the other thing who's name I can't remember that makes you puke.. And it's NOT a medicinal ingredient, so you're not going to see it in that section. Telling someone that "they'll be fine" if DXM is the only listed medicinal ingredient is just fucking stupid, because the non-medicinal ingredients are the ones that make you shit/puke to purge a dose that would get you high out of your system. The only possible way that you could get around it is to extract the DXM from the syrup, which is a lot longer a process than just chugging a bottle. Or you can try and find pure DXM pills, but I think even those are coming with the purging agents in them these days. |

All I'm saying is that IF you're going to drink high-dose DXM in syrup form, you should stay the fuck away from ones with other medicinal ingredients. Yeah, sorbitol might irritate your intestines... but it's not likely to kill you by liver poisoning like a DXM syrup filled with paracetamol easily could. I've tripped on DXM syrup before (750 mg / a full bottle of Benylin)... yeah, my stomach felt a bit uncomfortable, but other than that I was totally alright (your mileage may vary). |
