Hey guys,

Yes, it's another Bal en Blanc thread! Please don't hate :P

I'm just getting into the scene here in Montreal, and Bal en Blanc is totally not my scene. Nevertheless, a friend of mine got me a ticket, so I'm going. However, the vibe I'm getting from this party is way different than the events I've attended so far. So I need your seasoned advice.

I've read a lot of threads talking about BeB used to be better "back in the day," which means that at least some of you have some experience with it. I'm looking for survival tips; how do I deal with the line up/ what essentials should I bring/ etc etc.

Basically, if you have any ideas on helping me get through this night alive, intact and with a sense of humour, I'd welcome your advice!

- Go SUPER early to avoid a 2 hour lineup...
- Bring ear plugs because there will be a lot of sound.
- Go with friends.
- Create a meeting point so if you get lost you know to meet up every 30 minutes on the dot at a certain place.
- Don't bring anything, they won't let you in with your own water, drinks, glow sticks, or anything else they sell there for 10x what it should cost. Because of this you should bring a lot of money with you.
I'm feeling nuclear right now..

To help you prepare: Watch Jersey Shore

To help you deal with the line-up: Do lots of drugs. If your gonna do E, I think most people on this board would recommend either purple dolphins or orange stars for beb.
I'm feeling a message in a bottl right now..

The best way to survive bal en blanc is to not go.

Step two is finding yourself a new friend.

A free ticket to bal en blanc is still a ticket to bal en blanc; it's like finding a razor blade on the ground and saying "Hey, check it out, free razor blade! I've never been suicidal, but I should totally cut my wrists with it! It's FREE!"
I'm feeling like a drama magnet right now..

Like Gamos said; watch Jersey Shore.

Now imagine being surrounded by thousands of those guidos and guidettes, only they're dressed all in white, and the music is nothing but the most watered-down, crappy, might-as-well-be-pop electronic music that you can find.

Yes. And more.

Friends don't let friends go to Bal en Blanc.

The best way to approach any situation is with preparedness and 0 expectations.

Totally!

When it comes to the security, imagine that everyone that's working security is a Hells Angel zero-intelligence thug bouncer on steroids that thinks everyone is carrying drugs and trying to get in on their market of selling 2$ pills for 25$ a pop.

Now stop imagining because that's pretty much it; the security ARE mindless thugs that will treat everyone like a rival drug dealer; they're not there to secure anything but their profits and don't give a fuck about you unless you're hot enough to make them want to cop a feel because they think you've got drugs hidden on you.

Well, that was pretty much my experience ... and I was volunteering with GRIP for fuck's sake!

Won't even get into the whole management and mickey-mouse organization fuckups I witnessed that night...

Couldn't tell, never been to circus, and doubt I ever will with everyting I hear about the place.

But the point is, she's asking what to expect. If she's fine with that or even used to the anti-terrorist treatment, kool. Just giving a heads up :)

The only reason I went to BeB was for GRIP, and they made sure I wouldn't ever want to set foot in there again.

So I'm guessing I should keep my expectations low and my earplugs in...

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm guessing BeB isn't too popular on this board? What's the deal?

Well ..... the deal is the whole "bend over guarantee" that comes with your BeB ticket.

I.e. everything stated above.
