The girl, from Hong Kong, later collapsed and later died in hospital. This disturbing footage highlights the increasing use of ketamine in Hong Kong and mainland China.
Ketamine is a drug frequently used in human and veterinary medicine. It's availability for legal use has increased its popularity as a recreational drug and criminal gangs often raid veterinary practices and hospitals in order to acquire large quantities of the drug which can later be sold on the illegal market. China has five factories licensed to manufacture ketamine and this is the source of the majority of ketamine that is sold for recreational use in Hong Kong. The border between mainland China and Hong Kong is one of the most highly trafficked in the world. Recently relaxed border controls have meant that cities liken Shenzen on the Chinese side of the border have seen an increase in young people from Hong Kong coming to have a good time. This goes hand in hand with drug trafficking as young people take advantage of low prices for drugs such as ketamine in China. Shenzen Customs has seen an increase in the number of young suspects involved in cross-border drug use and trafficking since the start of this year.The low prices have made ketamine more appealing to young people as gram of cocaine can be ten times more expensive than a gram of ketamine. The ketamine problem in Hong Kong has been causing concern as Police have arrested children as young as 13 for Drug Offences according to the Commissioner for Narcotics Sally Wong. But ketamine use is not only confined to youth culture and it is reported to be the second-most popular drug among all age groups in Hong Kong. That's a little overkill... Just a little. |

IS there any more reliable news source for this? A texicology report regarding the incident? I havent found the LD50 for ketamine. But if i remeber correctly, the intramuscular dosage to induce surgical anesthesia in subjects is about 4-6mg/lb, which is way higher than the dose needed to be totally k-holed. Five milligram per pound amount to 800mg in a 160lbs man. If the average content of a vial weight of one vial is 400mg, then it takes two of them ( assuming the material is 100% pure... ). The line we see the girl snorting in that youtube video is like... i dont know, 10 grams?! 400mg all spread out on a plate looks like alot and is a pain to snort all at once. How that ammount can even fit in your nose? Is there any saturation amount where your nasal mucosa just cant take anything more and the drug just ends up pretty much in your throat?! I smell a hoax of some sort. I'd like news from some some international press agency or something. Update : LD50-LC50 Mixture: RAT ORAL LD50: 447 MG/KG LD50 (IPR-MUS): 400 mg/kg, LD50 (IVN-MUS): 77 mg/kg , im not sure what IPR means, but IVN is sometines use instead of IV to mean intravenous in chemicals safety cheets. 77mg/kg mean like 5775 in a 75 KG individual. 5,8 grams... wich means 14 vials and a half killed half the rats to who this ammount was shot straight in the veins. HAHAHA ! The ld50 can vary alot from one specie to another. I'm not familiar with ketamine. I know someone who isnt me who ended up unable to snort a couple of times after some very long cocaine binges. The powder would come in the blocked nostrils then no matter how someone who isnt me tried to get it all in, it kept falling outside his nose. So how can the little asian girl could have snort someone who isnt me under the table in 2 minutes. hum. 0_o |
