We already have one with like 3000 names on it... That's more names then the petition to stop them from building over the old Marionopolis...

should I send them this?

"Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have heard from a friend that you are an important part of this beautiful city, Montreal. I also understand that your support could allow for a sub culture of our city to thrive and celebrate it's peaceful existence like all cultures do.
For as far back as I remember, this city's Mont Royal park, opposite Parc Jeanne Mance has been the meeting place of tens and sometimes hundreds of drummers, singers, hippies, youth, elders and above all, Montrealers. This is our space and when we are passionate about something, we will diplomatically fight the resistance without a cause to change. Life is a living, breathing, changing thing; our culture, our music, ourselves all deserve an equal amount of respect.

It is with all of this in mind that I ask you to allow us to continue using the open fields of the Plateau Mont Royal to indulge in art, in life, in nature, and in freedom.

Sincerely Michael Schmid "

Here is my last reply... Anyways it seems useless to even be emailing these people. They obviously work together to bring nothing good to the city. I guess they are all stuck in the 40s where change was bad... Anyways... I guess it's going to be city meetings and mountain meetings for me. If anyone has any information on these let me know. I can't find anything online and none of them are willing to tell me when they are.

[MESSAGE]

> The mountain is one of the crown jewels of the city and the city has
> a responsibility to protect it. I know that this doesn’t please you

It actually does. I am happy people are looking out for the interest
of the mountain... Why do you think I live next to the mountain. Cause
I enjoy being there. And I want to be part of the community a little
and do things.

- Destroying the mountain to build condos = BAD
- Turning the mountain into a mine = BAD
- Building new roads and such on the mountain = BAD
- The cemetery on the mountain = BAD (since it's useless really)
- People polluting the mountain = BAD

People using the mountain for the greater good of society = GOOD!!!

Not allowing people to use the mountain after we have used it for 4
years does not represent destroying the mountain. It's giving people
what they want. If you actually came to the mountain on a Sunday and
saw all the people who enjoyed our event there, maybe you would change
your mind. But you seem to be living in another world where people who
use the mountain for the community is something that is bad. The
mountain is there so people can enjoy it. We are taking our time and
energy to give people what they want. It's sad to see people so
against this.

As for the "moratorium" i'm sure there are other people who want to do
an event on the mountain that gets passed. Maybe not a weekly event
but our event is tiny compared to a lot of them out there. I think you
should get out a little more and check out what people do for the
community and praise it and not go against it. Moratorium's also do
not last forever. It's a temporary thing. It seems strange that one
can do something for 4 years and all of a sudden be asked to stop
because of a "moratorium" which probably didn't even exist when we
started doing this.

Please let me know when the city council events are happening. I want
to be there as well as many other people. I think it's really
disgusting the way that you guys group together to make sure we can't
do anything fun for our community and the city. This is not moral and
I kind of know why people want to move away from the city. Most of the
people I know have moved out and it seems right. If there is no
community then what is there. Just a bunch of bureaucrats who only let
people who give them money do anything... It seems only fitting that
when the tams started the city didn't want it to happen either. They
had to fight for it to happen and we will do the same.

Personally I can't wait for new people to come into power in the city.
Hopefully they have a more open mind then you guys have and actually
help the people who want to give something back to the city they live
in instead of taking everything away from them.

Noah

draw media attention thru mass media overload

mail this to the news . expose their selectivism . bs they were authorised before the memorandum .

a memorandum is immediate attention . really draw attention , this might be an other corruption issue in the city council. this could actually get wide attention over the happenings in the contability lately.
I'm feeling snafu right now..

thats true, let's get the media involved, thats usually how it works when people dont get what they want, and im quite sure the council won't want that to happen so maybe they will be a little more willing to help us.

Ma contribution :

2009/5/22 MON_NOM <MON_ADRESSE>

question de nouveau."

meilleurs.

good luck and everything but you'll never be taken seriously as long as your letters to the city have all these spelling mistakes and stuff like "Why do you think I live next to the mountain. Cause I enjoy being there."

also this is horrible:

"Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
