You want to talk about a unified scene, then let's talk about people throwing an event in a location that's underground and used for FREE parties, and charging for their event.

Let's not forget that these FREE parties are full of local, established DJs who aren't asking for a penny back, just getting together for a good time, as opposed to a party full of locals that NO ONE has ever heard of that's charging 10$ for access to their party.

It's a matter of etiquette, and of 'unity', to at the very least make sure that things are handled in a 'propper' manner so that our scene can grow.

Charging for what amounts to a freeparty is fucking retarded. Accept donations, sell some drinks, but do NOT charge for people to go into an abandoned location, no matter HOW much gear you're renting.

And then there's the issue of respecting the venue and the crews that use it/discovered it (which, for the recent batch of parties that started with the NTK crew 2 years ago, was ME who found the location with some help from Bass-Ic, and we told the NTK crew about it); There was a party in that location the weekend before, by the 'originating' crew who started throwing parties there. That's already some attention drawn to the place. Now, a week later, there's ANOTHER party, which is MORE attention drawn to the place. If you know anything about people, it's that people TALK. They talk a lot! Hey, there's been two parties there in two weeks, why not go for a third party this weekend? Why not have one every weekend, the venue is FREE!

Doing shit like that DRAWS ATTENTION TO THE VENUE, something that we want to avoid as much as possible, which is why the NTK party the week before was the third party there in two YEARS.

And posting a map with directions to the location on your website when you were explicitly asked NOT to, because cops ARE keeping an eye on [ rave.ca ] HELLO? Where's the respect in that?

yeh fuck! Screwhead and Bass-Ic found that place you little fuckin posers!

Who do you think you are? You show up, nobody knows who the fuck you are, you charge ppl at the door for some shit event where ppl got drugged. You guys are amatures, I thought maybe you guys had permission from Twisted Bass and NTK but hearing this, I'm really pissed off. bunch of noobs charging people for an underground party, pathetic. It's not even your squat to use! lol

So not only did you steal the spot, you charged ppl to come see you, when you havent even played a payed gig or anything in our city yet. Nice, I'll be sure to never come to your parties.

No, I started doing some urban exploration in the summer just before my intestine problems started up, and on [ uem.minimanga.com ] that Amalgam had told me about, I found the pics of the tunnel, so using their vague descriptions of where it was, I used Google Earth and zoomed in and scoured the whole Canal looking for something that looked like the area in the outdoor pictures. When I found it, I called Bass-Ic while he was at work and told him about it, and on his way back he came and picked me up and we went to check it out.

hey guys I hate to say it, but I'm going to start charging everyone who walks in front of me $5.

Apparently you can charge for public space now and that is the rate I will set.

Those who don't pay will be contacted by the collections agency.

People got drugged? That's fucked up. What if someone was taking a medication that counter-acted with whatever was laced... Dead bodies... who paid $10 for a tunnel.

Man doing it wrong in every way.

Exactly, and on top of it, they aren't people we can necessarily TRUST, like Noah, or Mark or Mutante.
How would they deal with injuries or "bodies" as Scotty put it? They don't know anybody here! lol

good way to start your careers in Montreal boys, fake art, disgruntled dj's asking for handouts.

Fack off.
