so,The velocity of a sky diver 't' seconds after jumping is given by: v(t) = 80(1-e^-0.2t). After how many seconds is the velocity 70 ft/s?

so i get:

70 = 80(1-e^-0.2)

-1/8 = -e^-0.2t

ln1/8 = -0.2t

-2.0794 (rounded) = -0.2t

t = 10.4 seconds (approx.)

This look about right? Flo, lookin in your direction xD
I'm feeling gettin more ink soon right now..

you know, you can just throw the answer you got into the original equation, v(t) = 80(1-e^-0.2t), and see if V(t) = 70

theres an infinte number of possible wrong answers. Theres only one right answer. So whats the probability you got the right answer by doing the steps wrong?

yes that's it :) 10.4 seconds, the computation steps are right.

which means in 10 seconds the skydiver already falls down at over 80 kmph !

70 = 80(1-e^-0.2)

70/80 =1-e^-.2t

.875-1 = -e^.2t

-.125(-1)=-e^.2t(-1)

ln.125 = .2t

t = -10.397207708399179641258481821873

i dunno
