Someone asked, why cant you live freely even after you've found someone you want to be together with? Well in rare cases maybe you can. But generally speaking the party/hedonistic lifestyle is all about doing whatever gives you instant gratification, and is basically self centered. Being in a longterm relationship, on the other hand, is about self imposing limits and boundaries on your own behaviour because you feel it is worth it to be with that person, which means, in a sense, giving up absolute freedom.

Spooky, I completely agree with you that every lifestyle eventually becomes routine. Unless your someone who wants to reinvent themselves constantly (which I admit is personnally tempting), then routine is inevitable.

I agree with Clown that people today are alot more concerned with self than society, or to put it another way, more concerned with whats good for them than the greater good. But at the same time, one must ask themself, is the concept of 'society' worth conforming to, or is it just an idea in one's head? Is there even such a thing as the greater good? No easy answers.

I totally know what kafwin means about wanting to experience a little of everything. but I think I've gradually coming to terms with the fact that by always wondering what else i COULD be doing at any given time, i'm forgetting to enjoy what i AM doing right now. theres an incredibly amount of things i want to be able to do in my life, whether i'll ever get the chance is another story. but the bottom line is the most i can hope for is to find a lifestyle that makes me happy and be able to sustain it.

tipsy, where ya going?

I think hes asking the wrong question though..

Asking people if they will be happy settling down and raising a family isnt a question you can ask people who dont know. You have to of been through certain things to be able to know what you want out of life. How else can you know.

How can you know if you want to be commited to a family or if you'd rather be independent. Until you've experienced both. ( and by commited to a family I mean commited to a person long term )

Im at #2 and im still able to do all of #1 and its even better when you have someone to do it all with.

If and when life decides its time to move on to #3 (if thats the path I end up taking) I dont think i'll regret anything. If it were to happen next week I don't think I'd regret it.

Im just trying to make a point. I hope you get it.

Im happy with my life, the people I share it with and the things I experience.

As for the original question.. I dont have an answer.

and dan, He gets to go to mexico for 2 weeks (free)
AND Thailand for a whole month. (also free)
*glares*... Imagine a whole month and two weeks with someone I dont go at most 2 days without seeing. *cries*

good point Kafwin

Let me re-phrase it(removing the whole relationship/children idea even though it goes hand in hand with the usual cycle since we need kids to pass down our stuff to)

Do you think the point of life is to go to school so you can get a "good job", have a career, make lots of money, buy lots of stuff, live in comfort (which we often mistake for happiness) and die, passing the stuff off to whoever you chose to leave it to so that they can die and do the same thing, whithout ever thinking about spiritual journeys/helping mankind evolve/sharing personal knowledge with the world....

I just want to know if people have even considered spiritual journeys/helping mankind evolve/sharing personal knowledge with the world....because I was never presented that option when I was younger and I'd like to know how many of you figure that car/job/death was all life had to offer (this came as a result of Rubber Bubbles saying life is bullshit)

Some of you claim you're not thinking about the future...then why are you in school? And if in school, are there any classes about spirituality (not religion), or how to go about helping mankind?

Every decision you make has already been decided. Decided by a combination of factors that determine your every action and thought. We often misunderstand the concept of choice. We look at it like there are several possibilities to the future depending on our actions, but this is not the case, because the universe is unfolding as it should.

You can't change the future if you don't know what's going to happen.

Do you mean in a "i choose my life-path as a spirit, in a way that will challange me,then come to earth, forget what i chose, and live it" kinda way

or

"HAHA I'm the universe, everything's pre-determined, fuck you" kinda way

all seem to forget that relativity is a concept invented by humans, created to define.

defining is useless, simply all to be said is that relativity is an unexistant concept.

what is right for one...is not necessarly right for the other...therefore who is right?

none..for there is no right and wrong...

unfortunatly no matter how hard it is to accept, it doesnt seem that hard to understand...

just like was said, to be on the right path...one must follow their heart...follow their wants and needs, and not be afraid to satisfy what is right for the individual...no matter what society has tried to implant in our brains...

time to break through...fuck propaganda...well as best as we can i suppose...and to be reminded that all that is relative is not really real.

oh not again......................

here we go into the "nothing is good or bad 'cause it's all relative"

People say that until shit happens to them. It SOUNDS good but it's not realistic because we have emotions.

So raping little girls makes me a very happy person, i rape your daughter, kill and rape your wife who you love dearly....you walk in on me, your gonna say "hi, wow, it's so nice to see that your following your dreams. Wanna hug?"

If you don't kill me with your bare hands yourself, your gonna want me to fry/go to jail forever...why? Because what i did is wrong.

And the second we define one act as right or wrong, we create a point from which to judge other acts.

You gotta understand that I am definitely not one who believes in society's brainwashing. But I also realize that we as humans have our own innate knowledge, one that is there for a reason.
Part of that knowledge is the ability to feel, and distinguish between right and wrong. It's like intuition....if you are in tune with it, you'll know when you are taking the right path. It has NOTHING to do with what society teaches us. If there was no law, I still wouldn't go around hurting people. Not because society says it's bad, because I know it's not how we are meant to live...just like I won't hurt animals(self-preservation is a seperate matter).

When you take away right and wrong, you absolve people of responsibilty and caring. It's the easy way out...you don't have to care about anything because "it's all good".

oh....until it happens to you.
