 Coolness: 62370 | I need to find a job, and I've been applying, but I can't seem to get a job, most likely because of how I look like. Even when I tone it down. Does anybody know where I can get a job looking like the way I do, or where they wouldn't so much mind my rainbow hair?

i think if it is toned down... maybe down to 1-2 colours, and as long as you don't let it fade too much (i like the faded colours look personally, but it just might look ungroomed to some people) any decently open-minded place shouldn't have a problem with it i would think. :) |

and it would be fun to brush up on your knowledge too.. just play some games! haha anyways, your new hair style sounds cool.. its always good to tone it down and take a break from coloring for a while. i bleached the crap out of my hair for years and i think it did some damage. :/ |

You'd be wrong. Unless you apply to Game Buzz, which is probably the only store in the region to have the courage to hire girls. Every other store that's been here (except for family-owned places), like Compucentre (now defunct) or EB Games are deadly afraid of girls in a video game store, the way sailors are afraid of women on board. I know that when I used to work at Compucentre, my boss would trash most of the girls' application forms. Was it legal? No. Were we sad? Hell yeah. Other than that, not much we could do, since the store was dying anyway. |

I HATE EBGame for that, bunch of incompetant loser most of the time... The horribles lies (not bad lies, the "I don't know shit about shit" kind of lies) I heard one of them feed the poor soccer moms who tries to buy a console for her kids... My bf even went to see the customer and told her the truth about the 360 she was buying... EBEBEGAMES! I would suggest something NOT in relation with customers :) the look does not matter if you do not have to face clients everyday :) |

 Coolness: 158665 | all the student jobs i got in mtl i never got in trouble because of my look.. i think the most important is to wear clean clothes as well as smelling good. some people have a conventional look but fuck they are so dirty i would never hired them even if they are skilled!
jobs on the phone would certainly not ask you to change your fashion and it's the most easy and you get good money... also have you think starting your own business?! since i have my own i never been more happy...no one to give me shit or tell me what to do! well last 2 years job i was best friend with my boss... so..yA. ask yourself what can you offer to people?? are you good with animals? or kids? ect.. i was paid 14$/h to just repeat the same shit on the phone while reading books. it was the bomb. it's sooooo easy to find a job in mtl! good luck! non it's so easy you don't need luck you gonna find it girrrrrl! |
