One of the best mixers you're ever gonna get your hands on. The only bad thing is that the steepest curve you can put on the crossfader isn't really good enough for scratching.. but as long as you're not planning on scratching heavily, it's really one of the best mixers ever.
I'm feeling like cheezing right now..

I find the travel too long on the volume faders, and I cant stand the fact that its cluttered with bells and whistles to the point I can hardly get my fingers between the knobs for an adjustment without fucking something else up if I'm not paying super close attention, IMO its a mixer for precious fairy djs with girlie fingers. the hardware is rock solid tho.
I'm feeling hr, br, fr, sr right now..

i was never a big fan of the allen & heath mixers. well, i guess this one in particular. Everyone's in love with it, but i just dont like it, doesnt cater to my style of mixing i guess.

things i like? quality, the filters, cueing

things i dont like? the 4 eq's, i find the mid range eq on a mixer very important in certain mixes, and having 2 of them fuck with me i guess a bit.

uhm, the curve on the crossfader for sure...even if im not exactly scratching dmc style, just punching in a basskick is much harder, and sounds shitty unless you slide the slider up ultra fast.

and the knobs on the sliders are like console mixers...whats up with that? eat a dick.

thats just my 2 cents, it IS a great mixer, i just prefer using something like a pioneer 600 or something like that...
I'm feeling your nuts right now..

i love that mixer.
the sound quality is phenomenal and you seem to find it in a lot of clubs here in montreal.
the fader isn't really for scratching and the eq's aren't for everybody.
if that stuff is an issue for you...
i'd maybe take a look at the new addition to the xone family...
the xone 42.
it seems to have all the goodies of the xone 62 + a few more.
and it has square fader curve which means you can scratch.
it also has a 3 band eq for those who don't appreciate the added flexibility of a 4 band.
haven't tried it myself.
but i've used every xone from the 02 to 92 and everyone has been a pleasure to use.
if it's anything like the others it should fit into the line perfectly.
check it out...

I'm feeling republican right now..

I like mixing on it, once you get used to the eqs it adds a whole new level to your mixing.

i want the xone 92 coz its got filters for two channels, so you can put highpasses on those puppies and bring stuff in nice and smoooove. but 4 band eq..?? yukkk.. what is with that? this is allen & heath ffs you'd think they could have used those two knobs for a real sweepable mid.. yummm

I have a xone32 and i love it..The xone62 is alot better and would love to get my hands on it....I got my xone32 at a steal of a price 450$ brand new!!!!i imagine the xone62 is alot more than that....But yeah go for it if u can afford it's a great machine.

My very first party i ever did i used a xone62 and was very comfortable using it with out the effects mind u, but as far as a a good dj mixer goes allen and heaths are the best...
Update » Turtle wrote on Thu Apr 17, 2008 @ 8:11am
i think it also depends on the style of music u play.....For my house , progressive house and tribal house the xone32 does the job....But the xone62 would be alot better i think....
I'm feeling party stress right now..

I dunno.. Im not the biggest A&H fan myself for many reasons really.

- There's no Master Cue for your headphones (where you can hear the master output)
- The bass knobs are WAY to sensitive. (as soon as you point your bass knob at 9 o clock, it kicks in as if it was noon)
- Fag sliders that look like consoles make for very uncomphy mixing.
- Two mid knobs is just wrong
- too many buttons that we don't need in a regular dj set (would be great for production though)
- Its hard to accuratly cue a track in at the right volume since the cue range lights are so few.
- retarded "no EQ" button for EACH channel. (didn't realise the button was clicked the first time i used it and i was throwing in my mixes at full volume, once again, due to the lack of a Master CUE) !!

Bleh, just not for me !!

I'm feeling single right now..

to be fair it does look like they've taken a lot of those criticisms in mind when designing the xone 42... looks alright actually.

as much as i respect your personal opinion (after all, what mixer you use really comes down to personal taste)

this particular statement isn't accurate.
i have 2 xone mixers and both of them have the option to cue your master.

Humm.. i dunno, i have that knob on my mixer and it's not exactly the same as having a Master cue button. That's more of a fader between both cue tracks with the middle being both tracks at equal volumes.. no ??

Some of the xone mixers have it like that (just the 2 ch one I think though), on the others it's to blend between the cue-selected chanels and the master, so half way is playing whatever you've got cue'd and the master.
