regular bill

Last year, around at this time from November 24th, 2006 to January 25th 2007, my kWh were 270 and the bill amount was 39.69$
The next 2 month period was an increase of 730 kWh for 62.49$. This period was the most i ever paid. It's normal since i gotten an electric heater.

But from November 23rd, 2007, to January 24th, 2008, it is stated on the bill: 1 200 kWh for a total of 89.08$. Bloody Hell.
I don't use electricity that much except for a store bought room electric heater. Sometimes i leave it on all night or day. That might explain
the large increase of power demand. But then again, i hears story about electricity being split and stuff.

Other than the new statement format, did anyone else notice anything quizzical about their Hydro bill?

electric-generated heat costs a lot.

But that's too big a difference. I'd call hydro to inspect your building. Seems like someone's using your electricity.
I'm feeling 'sploded right now..

You need to check your "compteur". Its somewhere in your place, its the thing with that looks like a clock. Read it and see what number comes up. Sometimes they make mistakes reading it and charge you the extra.

Theres also the possiblity someones taping into your electrical supply, but its unlikely.

Room heaters generally don't consume a lot of energy but some do, especially if you leave it on all the time, so check that out. This winters also been colder than last years so you are definitely going to see a slight increase there, plus the energy prices have gone up so you have to factor that in.

Its a $26.00 difference so it can't be anything extremely drastic.

It's a great 50 minutes wait time in English Customer service. The French Customer service, you can't even get a rep.. not even the option of waiting. Their automated system just says please call later, and disconnect.

It's not i can't pay it. It's just weird, but it is also COLD. I think it's cause i am leaving my heater on, unlike last year which i unplug it. But i want to make sure. Last year average was 22.00$ monthly.

We've been waiting for a hydro inspecteur for 7 months now, they also think we live on the 3rd floor of a 2 story building. If you place is a shotty as ours, chances are the heat is just seeping away through windows, doors and even the floor.
I'm feeling unenthused right now..

I can't understand Hydro's obsession with raising prices of their services. I'm willing to pay extra if you OFFER extra. Just like f**king STM, they expect us to pay MORE for LESS services as more errors are being done, Hydro inspectors are either overworked or just don't give a damn. Regardless, they make a shitload of mistakes, on purpose of not.

And it's just nauseating when you hear any Hydro representative on TV going about how we are one of the industrialized country that pay the less for electricity, as if they were jealous and figure " hey, as a monopolistic company, we could do like EVERYONE ELSE and find ways to overcharge our clients since we barely make any money like it is ".

I'm glad there are rules in places and organisations that prevent then from jacking up the price to what they'd EXPECT us to pay.
I'm feeling dramatic. f**k off right now..

they spend billions of dollars in sponsorships for cultural events every year. Sponsorships are usually to brand a company in order for it to eventually make more profit with more customers... Hydro quebec is a monopoly.
I'm feeling lonely right now..

well actually the biggest mistake that some ppl does is to suscribe to the monthly plan with H-Q, im an ex debt collector for H-Q and let me tell ya that they're a bunch of fuck ass : they're saying that it's gonna be cheaper paying the same amount every months and promise to refund you if ur paying too much but how will u know that u paied too much??? will u be calling every damned end of yrs to check what ur electricity stats are?????? I dont think so... If someone got money back from hydro well let me know and oh BDW here's a trick if u guys get in a collection agency because of them, WAIT FOR THE 2ND CALL or MAKE A DEAL AT 75% of the original amount !!!!!!! they will accept only if ur paying the entire bill in 3 months ;)
I'm feeling walking on clouds right now..

I don;t pay on the equal monthly plan that is bull shit, I just blindly give them $50 every pay, and I usually end up with a credit.
I got like $300 back from Hydro this year, from time to time they estimate my bills based, guess they estimated wrong, cuz I got a nice credit in my account with them now!
I'm feeling gettin baked right now..
