Oh, hey yeah, you need to install the x64 of Win7 to take advantage of more than 3 gigs of ram!

Even then, i believe a 32 bits OS reads 3.5 Gb. not 2.99

a 32bit OS can manage a total of exactly 4 gigs. That factors in video memory, RAM, even the CPU's cache. Windows 7 x32 limits ram to 3 gigs so that you've still got 1 gig left for the graphic card and CPU cache, your soundcard's memory, etc.. Anything that's memory in your computer, basically.

What he said. If you aren't finding a torrent that works, you're not searching on Demonoid!

Screwhead, just read about it... You're totally right! My bad =P But i believe that if you are, lets say, a graphic card that isnt onboard, you shouldnt use the onboard video (if there's one). Right?

**if you have... =/

Also, i believe a 32bit OS (windows, at least) will read over 4 Gb... But won't be able to allow more than 4Gb to one program (because you'll need the 32bit version for a 32bit OS).

onboard video is most of time uber crappy!
and videos/videogames whatever
youll try to run with it will run at like 10fps
and youll be like OMG!!! THIS SUCKSSSSSSS
I NEED A REAL VIDEOCARD.

ok..it will work fine to watch .jpg's and
320x240 MPEG-1/Ytb Flv's... maybe they
improved them I dunno but last time I tried
one I couldnt stand it for more then 20minutes
or something it was just too awfull.

its like having a 2010's processor with a
late 1990's videocard :P

lulz i got a pentium dual core with 256 mb onboard graphics, and most of the time on dual-screen hahahaha! Not gaming at all on the pc tho. Movies are fine, but i usually stream them to my PS3... A couch is way more comfortable =P

Basically, i use the browser (comodo dragon), WMP and mirc. And vmware, every once in a while. So a core i7 with a gtx 580 video card would be totally useless in my case. I wouldn't say no if somebody would give it to me tho, thats for sure!

Yeah, you should disable the onboard graphics in the BIOS, not just 'not use it'.

The OS itself can poll the motherboard and see that there's more than 4 gigs of Ram/memory, but 32-bit code itself can't allocate/understand more than 4 gigs. It can "report" the information it gets from the motherboard, but it's impossible to access more than exactly 4 gigs of RAM.

I tested it and it works fine :)
