I'm sure Bush would raise his hand as well if one of his advisors would tell him to do so. |

well i'm glad you've anointed yourself as the arbiter of who should live and who should die. |

I don't see bush sacrificing millions of people anywhere, there are thousands of soldiers in Iraq, in a VOLUNTEER ARMY. They didn't have to join the army.
Saddam Hussain was taken out of power, and eventually killed (officially for war crimes), in the name of 'self-defense'. If you support taking out leaders in the name of self-defence, then you support actions such as the Iraq war. |

Agreed. The death penalty is a primative, vengeful, barbaric, counter-productive means to an end. Life (or as some might argue consciousness) is the most valuable thing in existence should be preserved at all costs. Those who choose not to or find they cannot co-exist with society should be isolated, studied, educated, and rehabilitated (in that order) so that they may find purpose on either an individual or macro scale. I truely beieve that every person is born with infinite positive and infinite negative influencial potential and just the knowledge alone that an individual possesses is enough to help towards bettering the species and improving the conditions we live in.

In Canada and the USA we don't live in despotic regimes where we kill leaders we do not approve of. This isn't lord of the flies. |

It's voluntary, their parents didn't have to have kids. [ www.washingtonpost.com ] "Study Claims Iraq's 'Excess' Death Toll Has Reached 655,000" If bush had not invaded iraq, those people would not be dead right now.

What about that guy in BC who killed 49 girls and want to kill another one just to make it 50...
Does he deserve thousand and thousand of our money to remain in a cell for the rest of his life ?? talkin' "money vs life" may seem you pretty cheap, but can you respect a guy like this... I'm sure I'de rather died than stay in a cell for the rest of his life, with 98% of his job done...
I'm feeling sucré right now.. |

if you want a punitive justice system, then move to the united states that you all ignorantly hate so much.
if you want a rehabilitative one, then stay in canada. personally, i would love it if all the self righteous assholes moved away. |

Ok, so why is it justifiable to kill someone in self defense?
