First off define "scammer" and explain why you would react so cynically to such a simple request...

Was this person soliciting anything or harrassing you in any way?

If not, your entire implication is nothing more than ignorant speculation and consequently you have no grounds to label the person, or people involved as such. From what you wrote above, all you got was a message from someone vaguely requesting your email address. Last I checked there was nothing illegal about asking a question which, as I'm sure you're consciously aware doesnt even require a reply from you. By posting this thread you've counter-productively wasted your own time nd the time of anyone who would read, and reply to this thread (myself included). At least you didn't go so far as to label Yahoo a "scam" as well for providing "scammers" with the means to spam people using their email domains....

Any reaction of yours in response to receiving such a message is done so voluntarily by your own free will so if your reaction hypothetically lead to you getting scammed, the only real person who can be held accountable for the potentially negative consequences is yourself.

And that's my two cents...
I'm feeling you up right now..

Actually before I labeled it a "scam" I did a simple copy paste into Google and found pages and pages leading back to same person who is posing as someone else. From community sites like [ rave.ca ] to dating sites all over the world. Even posing as a male on gay sites.

here's a link from the first rank result in the google..

However I commend on your rather impressive vocabulary. Keep routing for the underdog Phoenix.

There's nothing wrong with hippies. Just people who assume that everyone who brings up a subject gets revolted and defensive and again assumes that everyone around them is ignorant.

Thats ignorance in itself.

lol, not my best writing there... "I meant to say everyone who brings up a subject is unfounded, then gets revol..." anyways back to work for me.

Can you even certify the authenticity of the link you posted or verify that any of the commentary replies posted thereon have any validity whatsoever? No, you can't which means that all you have to back up your claim is reasonable suspicion. Besides which, even if the people posting in that forum are real, and actually received the emails from this person and described them with perfect accuracy there was still nothing illegal about what was done. Even if a thousand people copy/pasted the emails they received from this supposed individual and sent them along with their complaints to every global legal authority it's completely virtual evidence. None of the emails contain threats or hate propoganda whatsoever so according to the freedom of speech laws which are in effect to protect us all, this person hasn't really commited any crime and couldn't be charged with anything beyond "causing mischief" which I highly doubt would even hold up in actual court.

Seriously friend. If you want proof just reply to the email yourself. (favourmabou@yahoo.com) If a several people getting the same message as me not proof enough including Melodie then you're just wasting you're own time.

This thread isn't even an hour old and already one other user received the same message. If you are just worried about the definition of the word "scammer" - which is actually slang, then that really isn't my problem.

Seriously Phoenix, no one asked you anything. If you didn't get that message in your PM box then your post should have been. " Ummm no, I aint got nutt'n"

But thank you for your detailed opinion. I'm happy to know my arguments will never stand up in court. You are a true lifesaver. Wooo close one!

Now please lets leave this to people who may have received the same PM as I.

Cheers.

He's just being a hippy, he doesn't want to accept that someone might actually be a spammer and instead believe he's innocent until proven guilty, except he's *been* proven guilty since he sent the same trash message to multiple people, which is what spam is.

Just to clarigy here, you're the one(s) whining about getting the message(s). Personally I just don't see why anyone would care enough to do anything beyond simply deleting such spam if it/they was received in the message box(es). If anything you're providing the spammer with exactly what he, she, or they want(s): free publicity.

Ian, in response to what you wrote my commentary has nothing to do with wanting or not wanting to accept something, it has to do with acknowledging what the facts are and distinguishing between truth and speculatory assumption before simply jumping to paranoid delusional conclusions which is what you all seem to have done right off the bat.

Remember... Asking questions is the best resource in discovering the truth.

If two people get the exact same message on this board, I know enough about spam to know it's spam. and complaining means Noah will go into the database, trash all the duplicate messages, then ban that user.

So you and your uselessly high vocabulary are telling me/us to delete our so called or possible spam thus admitting it is spam, to not be curious and ask questions (Remember... Asking questions is the best resource in discovering the truth.) with the simple curiosity of "if" other users here have been spammed and/or messaged.

Get off your superiority trip and let people have a normal discussion. If we needed a referee for the truth we would have asked. Wow, I never thought an ignorant troglodyte can have such use for words with more than 2 syllables. I'm guessing your intention was to piss me off in the first place. Congratulations. I guess I can ignore you for now on.
