You know, that's exactly my point. I have nothing against sympathy and feeling down a little bit, but death is really the only end to life (duh) and some people fear it so much, or put SO much energy into preventing it.
Like the entire pharmaceutical industry is a scam, because you'll never prevent death, just prolong life, and in most cases, this prolonging is useless, painful and unrealistic. Death is NOT tragedy nor is it even worthy of being referred to as news. I feel for the living and can rejoice in the life some person has lived, but why mourn death? Why feel pain for something you knew was going to happen at one point or another.
Those who have died, at worst, are the only ones who truly understand what life is, while most of us spend our lives trying to figure that out.
The generation before us was so ignorant, so shallow and materialistic and selfish. I hope we can learn from their life degenerating actions.
I'm feeling tired right now..

Actually, the way I see it, death is part of the living experience. In a way, you haven`t lived till you died...

Rememer the final scene from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie (1990)?
Splinter (or Kevin Clash's voice rather) makes a very powerful statement as he addresses his nemesis in his final moments as he hangs off the edge of the building. Even as a young child I understood his message with vivid clarity when he says: "Death comes for us all Oroku Saki, but something much worse comes for you. For when you die, it will be (Shredder throws a hidden knife), without honor."
I'm feeling you up right now..

I see death as another adventure :) Maybe there are colours. Maybe there is nothing. I don't know. I'll see it when it comes!

N'ah, death itself is natural, it's for the people that stays behind that it gets harsh. Because, you won't see your friend/parent/child again. Also, seeing someone suffering is harsh. Like, someone getting sick and slowly dying. Harsh, but.. It has to happen, you know... You can't evade it.

You make it sound in your original post that the pain annoys you, as if people are whinning when they tell you how much they miss someone. You can't just say 'get over it', it's not your typical everyday problem. Would you tell someone who was raped to 'get over it'? Cause losing someone you love hurts a hell of a lot more and being alone with that pain hurts even more. Losing our fear of death isn't something that can be taught. No one is prepared for it, no one ever will be. If that was the case we'd all be sages and we're not, we're only human.

I agree with everything you said about how we should view death 100% but you just cant expect people to be that strong. I've thought a times that I wasn't scared of dying but it was never true. Death is something we have to accept but that doesn't mean it won't hurt.

It's not like they can do anything about it, they should just accept it as the certainty that it is and move on with their lives. Remember the good times and be happy that they aren't going to be suffering and in anymore pain.
