on Mentana/Boyer above Mt-Royal

it was nice living there
decent restaurants
cheap groceries
tons of parks within proximity
not too many trendy kids despite the American Apparel on the corner

i always walked passed Papineau or go up on Masson every now and then
I'm feeling liberated right now..

alots of place in mtl are cool for leaving that's for sure!
i think every area have good and bad advantages.

- anywhere near the mountain. i like to bike on the mountain..

- the u-turn called davidson and sherbrooke. really cool to own a place there if you are a family.
the bad aspect is that it's sad to see how the majority of the neighborhood is extremely poor.
do you know that some statistiques show that theses residents die 6 years before other mtl area..

- outremont/westmount... for restaurant and it's quiet. alot of litle place to discover..
but ambiance too bourgeois. + boite noire on laurier avenue.

- plateau, only if you don't work there! i hated live there when i was working at the videostore on
mont-royal street! i was always crossing clients and it can become anoying when it's friday and you are
trash.. + some customers always give me their moovies return when i was taking a walk.. arrrg!
finaly i end up to always walk in the ruelle. but i miss to walk at night from the center on this
neighborhood... and smoking weed, quiet.. here in nyc it's not very possible doing that..

- near le canal lachine.

there is so much nice place where live in mtl that i can't name it all!
I'm feeling ok right now..

I guess I'm a bit biased since I've been living there my whole life but Cote des neiges will have to be my pick.

However while Ahuntsic is a bit out of the way, I really like the area, especially for the nice walks that you can take near the river.
I'm feeling frustrated right now..

Plateau all the way! I love living here. Parks and plenty of small stores around. Parc Lafontaine, Parc Baldwin, Parc Laurier, nice places to live around! But condos are quite expensive, people are insane, selling a 4½ for like 225 000$, just like what the.. uh?
I loved living in Villeray, quiet, calm, as long as we are not too close to the 40, it's a nice place!
I'm feeling ghetto right now..

Mile-end/outremont - to a little east of mount royal metro.. I like that area. Walking and biking around there at night is the best. I think its a great area for young adults, great restaurants, bars, shopping, ice cream parlours, and no one gives you double takes when they see you walking around barefoot at 4 in the morning with a jug of wine in tow, Who could ask for more?

Westmount, its clean its nice, its convinient, safe.. regardless of all the pretentious snobs i've lived here for about 10 years and I really like it, walking home after bars close along sherbrooke doesnt take long and its a nice walk. Taxis from bars are about 10 bucks , the parks are amazing, great community activities and resources... but if I ever walked around barefoot at 4 in the morning, i'd probably be stopped and escorted home within minutes by security.

Mcgill ghetto was also a great place to grow up, I grew up on sainte-famille, and I would give anything to live there again, I dont remember it ever being that noisy and it was also a great neighboorhood for kids and community activities. I dont know if its still like that though... probably not safe to walk around barefoot though.

NDG is also nice and convienient.. but the parks arent all that nice, haha! Id only risk walking around barefoot in some parts.
I'm feeling a little feclempt right now..
