yeah i have this concept when i mooved to nyc but here the scene is constituate with all the possible race...i even see a lot of black people in hardcore party.i think it's great because they always make crazy dance. it's always special when i see a latino gang wearing dark ravers clothe!

but the history of afro-americain is hold in usa...in mtl it's relatively new and they are less... the haitien community and other race minority need a identification.because they are not here since alot of generation...and for answer christelle...you don't have an attraction for a genre of music because of your race...it's not raciale...it's culturel...

It's a bit off because black people did a lot for the electronic music scene.. E.G. Electro and the original house and techno scenes, as well as a big jamaican influence in the jungle scene...

i think scott is pretty much right, it's also because there just aren't enough black people in m-city...But other places particularly detroit and chicago there is a vibrant black community of ravers who aren't affraid to mix with other races, look at old gods like Derick Carter and Carl Cox both black (and gay for that matter...) also in places like england it is much more mixed, you must remember that there is in some circles of hiphop (but certainly not all) a strong anti raver vibe. Also you have to consider the type of music too, black people tend to like funky/soul stuff so i can see them into house, breaks, Jungle, booty and some forms of techno but not so much into psy trance free form and goa, there are many black DJs, Assault, Capital J, etc...

i think this must be further investigated before we draw any firm conclusions this complex socio-cultural pattern.
