CRACK THE WHIP, AND DRUG-TEST EVERYONE WHO GETS PUBLIC MONEY

I just read the article in the Bay City Times Dec. 30 about testing
welfare recipients for drugs. I think it's a very good idea,
providing we also test everyone who received taxpayer money to be
sure no one is living an illegal life on the taxpayers' dime.

We should start with the governor, all legislators, all state,
county, city, township, school, police and fire employees. Also make
them all pay for the testing. Sounds like a great jobs program also,
since we might need more labs, more testers, more materials to test with.

I'm all for it if it requires all on the taxpayers' payroll to be
tested. That would make the program non-discriminatory. As a former
Delta College employee, I would have been willing to participate as
long as everyone did. Why not? Make sure no one who is getting
taxpayer money isn't living an illegal lifestyle. Let's crack the whip.
