Alright, should get this one started.

I liked it, had a blast, lots of white, loud sounds, ears are still ringing. Took me a while to get used to the huge number of people and having to squeeze my way from place to place but after it didn't bother me.

How was everyones night?

Bal en Blanc, oh god. Is it me or.... I'm the only here who thinks this event is ultra cheesy and sucks with bad music, stupid non-stop line-ups and ugly chicks?

and please, respect the people who don't!! ;)

TRUE-(about the james brown underground parties argumentation). Underground will always be the source though, and the masses will always try to imitate, that's a fact we can't deny.

bal en blanc is shit.. bal en blanc sucks ,and should be considered the equivalent of following lemming's off a cliff.

They can make that event better with a few drastic changes and a shotgun.

sebastien prelar: just to play devil's advocate. Do you think you ever went to one of those underground parties? I mean, there hasnt been one in at least 10 years. And the new underground still keeps most ppl out of the loop.

Just to make my point clearer: the current 'underground' raves, and the big 'masses' one, are both results of the mass taking over the underground. Just two different approaches.

Yes I did. I was raving and going to parties back in 94, so I know how they were back then.

I don't agree with that statement... underground parties can be as shitty as large events.... but the bal en blanc is a particulary shitty... imo...
but usualy large event tend to lose the essence and are more about making money and peoples that are there only to do drug... instead of being about the music

I went to large partie that were cool.... any fractal surfer party, swirl4 (w/ dj skull, mike dearborn, steve stoll)

I was there in 94 as well.... :-p

and here I,m the one to disagree. people are not there only to do drugs, their is a large amount of people who are there for the music. Mtl is known to be a city full of house pussy. Deep dish and Peter Rauhfer (sp?) are not lil unkown dj. they are very talented. for the trance room, even tho i despise it... you can't blame the producer to bring a name that will make every trance lover go eranufhaeirucfnkeycfgbzkjsa efk, x 10000 times. and as for making money.. well with tiesto, deep dish... all the security , the insurance , ect ect.. you can't blame them, to not want to lose money. i'm not telling you theire is no laval/musclé/civic monté in those event but just to try to see the bigger picture

as for losing the essence of well... my friend that essence is long gone.

no hard feeling, people around here know me to always defend any event that promote house music.

has anyone noticed that all these "big name dj's" at these "big party's " dont actually dj,they slap on a record and wave there hands around and smile at the crowd and pretend to eq,IMO,all those guys are hacks and are not talented dj's by any stretch of the imagination,it's purely there selection that got them where they are,and the selection is geared towards pop, which is USUALLY shit.

Ok, haha, sorry guys, I don't mean to step on your shit talking or whatever but this is the reviews section, I'm guessing the only valid people to actually make reviews are the ones who went, how can you talk shit if you didn't go yourself?

So who actually went and what did you think?
